Elizabeth Leachman, a sophomore at Boerne Champion High in Texas and the reigning UIL Class 5A state champion, joins DyeStat's Keenan Gray to discuss competing in the girls championship race Nov. 18 at the Nike South Regional at Bear Branch Park. Leachman finished 49th last season at NXR South, but has established herself as one of the favorites to secure an individual qualifying berth to race Dec. 2 at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon. Leachman ran 16:25.5 on the 5-kilometer layout Nov. 3 at Old Settlers Park to capture the state championship, achieving her fifth consecutive victory entering the regional final.
